Project Philosophy

Delving into the depths of our collective narratives, we uncover the essence of decolonization. Every tale shared is a step towards understanding diverse perspectives, amplifying voices that have long been silenced. As we navigate the intricate web of stories, we pave the way for genuine transformation.

Each word spoken can reshape our realities, challenge the status quo, and illuminate the path ahead. Embrace the journey of discovery, for within these narratives lies the key to unlocking a future free from the shackles of colonization.

Let us be beacons of change, standing together on the threshold of decolonization. Our stories intertwine, weaving a tapestry of hope and resilience. We are the dreamers, the storytellers, the architects of a tomorrow built on understanding and unity.

My understanding of change, global societies, history, and how the world functions is significantly informed by mycelial networks and the inherent interconnected nature of all living things. Linear pathways obfuscate clarity as we try to box everything into easily palatable ideas. Labels restrict creativity yet open up communication. As long as we don’t stop growing in thought, like the fungi, we won’t be malnourished of the food that feeds us.

Project Timeline

Dreams of Decolonization started in early 2023, inspired by my studies abroad and the stories I had the privilege of listening to. My Mapuche Mama Ita said to me:

“La responsibilidad de conocimiento es a ensañar”
“The responsibility of knowledge is to teach.”

Because of this responsibility, I created this project to amplify better indigenous, subaltern, not commonly heard his-tories, her-stories, and their-stories through the medium of a podcast, an art exhibition, and a potential publication.
